Brenda had lived with her aunt since her parents' deaths when she was quite small. The stories her aunt had told her over the years filled her head with a romantic ideal. Brian fell in love with her and asked her to marry him, but he didn't measure up to the man of her dreams. Her aunt gives her money so they can travel abroad as a test to see if he is the man for her.
