Séki mon voisin de classe #2
The cover of this second volume from Éditions Akata says it all: a bewildered schoolgirl watches wide-eyed from her desk as her neighbor — the irrepressible Séki — sits absorbed at his own desk surrounded by what looks like an elaborate collection of small objects, completely lost in his own world. Takuma Morishige's clean, expressive linework perfectly captures the comedic chemistry between these two classroom neighbors, with question marks floating above both characters hinting at the delightful absurdity to come. A charming slice-of-life manga that arrived in French in 2015 with exactly the kind of quiet, deadpan humor that makes classroom comedy so endearing.
