This issue puts Molly Hayes front and center in the most charming way possible — her cover is styled as a yearbook spread, complete with a Polaroid snapshot of her flashing a thumbs-up in her signature shark hat, surrounded by handwritten messages from classmates and an impressively long list of school club memberships. Rainbow Rowell and artist Kris Anka capture something genuinely sweet here: a kid who throws herself into everything with open-armed enthusiasm, even while the world around her is anything but ordinary. Matthew Wilson's soft, warm palette ties the whole collage together, making this one of the more inventive covers of the series.
