Frank Fizzle is fed up with his father, a washed-up writer whose only ambition is to be the Royal Historian of Oz, even though his Oz books have been condemned by the Official Oz Society. However, Jasper accidentally stumbles on the Silver Slippers and travels to Oz himself, returning with a caravan of magical artifacts and a Winged Monkey. Princess Ozma gathers a team of her subjects to travel to Earth and bring back the stolen artifacts.
