Roy Rogers Comics #55
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of this July 1952 Dell issue delivers an eye-catching photo treatment — Roy Rogers himself bursts through what appears to be torn canvas or paper, white Stetson on and a revolver raised, his fringed vest and determined expression radiating frontier cool. It's a clever, tactile design that gives the "King of the Cowboys" a sense of genuine urgency, as though he's stepping right off the range and into your hands. With interior work by the Al McKimson Team and a story titled "Freight Failure" waiting inside, this is a fine snapshot of early-'50s Western comics at their most spirited.
