“Dangerous Near Him”

In "Dangerous Near Him," Edna, still holding on to a promise made a year prior, searches desperately for a builder who vanished without a trace. With her funds dwindling and her hopes pinned on a music competition, she faces disappointment—but not before earning the quiet respect of a judge who saw her talent. Just as despair sets in, a kind-hearted shopkeeper offers her a lifeline in the form of a job at her stationer’s. Written by J. Stamper and illustrated by Lino Jeva and Angelo Platania, with inks by both, this poignant slice of 1958 life unfolds with gentle realism and emotional weight, its cover by Lino Jeva capturing the moment’s quiet turning point.
