Jim barges into the office for Miss Greenslades Advice to the Lovelorn column and asks to see Miss Greenslades about an urgent problem. The girl he was talking to was actually "Miss Greenslades", but she intended to keep the secret to herself. He writes that the landlady's daughter keeps proposing to him, and she replies that he should tell her that there is someone else he loves. When he reads the reply the next day, he asks her out to pretend to be his girlfriend. But it was all a ruse because he knew he had to meet her since seeing her on the bus.
