The fourth volume of Rommelgem arrives with a cover that commands attention: a mustachioed man in a wide-brimmed hat and round tinted glasses stares out at the reader, twin mushroom clouds reflected ominously in his lenses, all bathed in a smoldering orange palette by David Etien. That brooding image sets a fittingly unsettling tone for "Zwarte jaren" — Dutch for "Dark Years" — suggesting Pancratius Edelhart Ladislas Philippus, graaf van Rommelgem is headed somewhere genuinely troubling. Béka's series continues to look like one of Dupuis's most distinctive offerings of 2025.
