Romeo #14 November 1970
In "The Boy They Couldn't Change," Alan finds himself in Birmingham, trying to move on from a past romance that ended when the girl’s mother deemed him unworthy. When a chance encounter at the employment exchange leads him to a young woman working as a photographic assistant—someone whose dreams of modeling remain unfulfilled—he begins to see a reflection of his own struggles in her quiet determination. With Norman Lee handling both art and inks, and Tony Hudson’s cover capturing the mood of longing and quiet hope, this 1970 issue offers a poignant, character-driven story set against the backdrop of everyday ambition and unmet promises.
