Romeo #1 June 1974
"A Love Too Beautiful to Lose" kicks off with Janey grappling with Greg’s shifting focus as he casts Carolyn for a new 'Flapper' make-up campaign. While exploring the 1920s mansion used for the shoot, she stumbles upon a Brownie box holding a forgotten diary and vintage photos—each whispering a past that eerily mirrors her present. The discovery takes a chilling turn when Carolyn is found dead at the quarry, and a newly developed photo reveals her unmistakably in a 1920s Bentley, frozen in time. Cover by typeset.

Janey is lamenting the fact that Greg has lost interest in her after choosing Carolyn as his new model for a make-up range called 'Flapper'. While looking around the 1920's mansion used for the shooting, Janey discovers a Brownie box containing a diary from that era along with some photographs. Reading the diary, she finds a story similar to hers that ended in tragedy for all involved. After lunch, Carolyn is found dead at the bottom of the quarry. Janey sees one of the previously undeveloped photos from the Brownie box and sees that it now clearly shows Carolyn in a 1920s Bentley.
