The issue contains two main stories. "The Last Time I Was Burned" follows Joyce Martin Henderson, a secretary for famous dress designer Hattie Loonton, who poses as a wealthy heiress at an exclusive Palm Springs hotel to attract the attention of wealthy men, only to be exposed as a fraud and humiliated when the real Miss Henderson arrives at a grand ball. A man named Bob proposes marriage to her afterward, and she accepts. The second story involves a woman on a train who is mistaken for someone else by a man named Paul Haskell; he later becomes interested in her romantically, though she is puzzled by his attention and confused about his intentions toward her.
