A policeman is sorting out conflicting car accident accounts. Laura’s in Paris to see Steve, a travel agent on assignment there. She finds Colette Duval demanding personal meetings with Steve to secure her contract. Laura threatens to end her relationship if Steve goes out with Colette again. When Steve goes missing, Laura drives to Colette’s house, where the accident occurs. Colette claims it was deliberate, but Steve saw it—he was going to tell Colette that Laura means more to him than a commission.
