When Ellen's father arrives in Paris to take her back to London to marry Oswald, Jean and Ellen pretend they are already married so that she can stay in Paris. But Oswald arrives and Ellen learns that he is blackmailing her father. Oswald needs her to accompany him to Cape Town for a few days to convince his grandfather that they are married or he will be disinherited.
