The third chapter of this Belgian-published historical series carries the striking subtitle "Caesar doden" — and the cover by Annabel sets an appropriately ominous tone, depicting a toga-clad Roman figure striding forward amid a swirling flock of black crows descending on the marble colonnades around him. Above the title block, a woman and a man stand flanked by armored legionaries beneath a stormy amber sky, hinting at the grand sweep of Roman intrigue driving the series. With four writers — Éric Adam, Pierre Boisserie, Didier Convard, and Frank Vanzeer — collaborating alongside Annabel's detailed linework, Roma #3 looks to be a richly layered journey into the power and peril of ancient Rome.
