Hoghead Harry's peculiar logic leaves his companion baffled when the moaning cowpoke insists he feels terrible despite being in perfect health—all because he's convinced that feeling good now only means suffering later. It's a hilariously backwards bit of frontier reasoning that proves sometimes the biggest obstacle to enjoying the present is worrying about what comes next.

A salesman tries to convince a skeptical fellow that a dog is the smartest in the whole West—by demonstrating how the mutt sat down and scratched his head when asked if they'd forgotten something. This gag-driven yarn plays it straight as a tall tale, letting the punchline do all the work.
