Rocky Lane Western #19

The issue contains two main stories. In "The Idle Rumor," undercover marshal Rocky Lane rides through the Montana hills and encounters rustlers stealing horses from a ranch. After a gunfight, Rocky discovers that the rustlers have been systematically taking horses from the herd, with one going missing regularly, and learns the operation is being run by someone posing as a wild kid raised with a bad crowd. In "The Gas Gulchers," Rocky is assigned by the Chief Marshal to intercept a group of scientists arriving by train on the 21st to prevent rustlers on the rampage from rounding them up, though the outlaws aim to keep the scientists away to avoid giving the wrong impression about the West.
