“Robot Dreams”

In "Robot Dreams," Sara Varon crafts a quiet, heartfelt tale of friendship and loss, following a dog who builds a robot companion and shares simple joys—like a trip to the beach—before the robot is left behind to rust. When the dog returns to reclaim him, the beach is closed, and the robot, though damaged, is eventually repaired by another. Though separated, both remember each other with warmth, and the dog, in time, builds a new one. A touching, wordless story told with gentle precision, with all art and lettering by Sara Varon, and a cover by her as well.
