Robbedoes en Kwabbernoot door #18

Flix takes the beloved Robbedoes and Kwabbernoot duo to Cold War–era Berlin in this 2021 Dupuis album, with cover art by Flix that immediately sets the tone: a blue Trabant careers wildly along the top of what is clearly the Berlin Wall — barbed wire below, the city's TV tower looming in the background — while Robbedoes grips the roof and Kwabbernoot dangles precariously off the side, a small cuckoo clock tumbling through the air above them. It's a wonderfully kinetic image that captures the pair's signature mix of slapstick danger and adventure, coloured with atmospheric grey-blue tones by Marvin Clifford and Ralf Marczinczik that give the divided city a moody, era-appropriate feel.
