Doug Wildey's Rio returns with this second volume, subtitled Le Fils de Monsieur Howard, and the cover sets a tense, moody tone immediately — a rugged lawman, badge gleaming on his chest, levels a revolver directly at the viewer from the shadows of what looks like a wooden doorway. Wildey's painterly linework gives the figure a weathered, lived-in gravity that feels right at home in the genre's finest tradition. A great entry point for Western fans discovering this series in its 2018 Fordis/Colorado edition.
