Two gun-toting leads — one in glasses with a necktie, one with a beard — stand back-to-back at the center of this kinetic cover, surrounded by chaos on all sides: an angry mob to the left, armored riot police to the right, and a blazing Victorian house erupting in the background. Chris Johnson's linework and colors split the composition brilliantly, warm amber flames on one side and cool blue shadows on the other, giving the whole image a satisfying visual tension. Rifters #6 from Image arrives in November 2024 feeling like a series hitting its stride, with a cover that promises two worlds of trouble closing in at once.
