Rifters #4

From Brian Posehn and Joe Trohman's Rifters comes this fourth issue with a cover that wastes no time setting a grim tone. A looming, armored figure — bloodied gauntlet at their side — stands over two unconscious or worse figures sprawled across a floor, a lone pair of glasses knocked loose nearby, the series title stenciled across the ground beneath it all. Chris Johnson's linework and colors ground the scene in something uncomfortably real, making this 2024 Image series feel less like superhero spectacle and more like a crime story wearing genre-fiction armor.
