Rick and Morty Meeseeks P.I. #[nn]
In "Meeseeks P.I. Part 1: A Remote Chance for Mr. Smith," Detective Meeseeks—ever the hard-boiled archetype—wakes up battered in a rain-soaked alley, his mind sharp despite the bruises, as he sets out to find the elusive senior Mr. Smith. Written and illustrated by Fred C. Stresing, with bold inks and striking colors by Meg Casey, this noir-inspired adventure unfolds across a gritty, high-stakes chase, culminating in a two-page bar fight rendered in stark black, white, and vivid red. The cover, also by Stresing, captures the gritty mood of the story, setting the tone for a mystery where the truth is as slippery as the city’s wet streets.

Jerry and Detective Meeseeks crash Rick's spaceship. Jerry is taken by the two muscled goons, while Detective Meeseeks (like any good film noir detective) is knocked-out and left battered in a rainy alley to regain his senses. Rick joins Morty and Summer in their search for Jerry. Detective Meeseeks also searches for the senior Mr. Smith, leading to a two-page spread of a bar fight colored in black, white, bright red, and muted green tones. Detective Meeseeks deduces the identity of the mysterious Mr. S., the caper's mastermind, whose identity the readers also learn over the final three pages.
