Richie Rich Vaults of Mystery #42
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeHarvey's "Vaults of Mystery" takes a delightfully surreal turn in this 1981 issue, as the cover promises the tale of "The Incredible Shrinking Rich Kid" — and delivers on that premise with a wonderfully absurd image of a tiny Richie Rich crouching nervously among gigantic dollar bills scattered across the ground. A massive red shoe looms overhead, and Richie's thought bubble — "Gulp! I hope she doesn't see me!" — adds a charming note of comic anxiety to the whole oversized situation. It's a fun, imaginative spin on everyone's favorite poor-little-rich-boy, rendered in Harvey's warm, expressive house style.

The kidnappers take Richie to a dilapidated river boat. The boat, actually belonging to Richie and rigged with high tech gear, transforms into a helicopter and lands at the Rich factories where the police are waiting for them.
