Richie Rich #97

Harvey Comics' "Poor Little Rich Boy" is in rare form on this September 1970 cover, gleefully firing gemstones from a slingshot while stacks of cash and scattered jewels line the fence behind him — only Richie Rich could make a mess this extravagant look this charming. Warren Kremer's cover art perfectly captures the series' cheerful absurdity, with the bow-tied blonde millionaire kid looking genuinely delighted by the sparkling chaos he's creating. Issue #97 is a fine snapshot of Harvey Comics at its most warmly humorous.
