Even the Poor Little Rich Boy has to get his eyes checked — Ken Selig's cover finds Richie Rich standing before a National Market stock report board in an optometrist's office, squinting to read the figures while a bemused doctor looks on from behind. It's a charming, relatable gag that plays the wealth angle perfectly sideways, and with Harvey promising "pages and pages of comic hi-jinks" inside, issue #242 is a fun snapshot of Richie's 1989 monthly run.

Richie and Cadbury go jogging. Cadbury worries that Richie runs too slowly, but actually Richie was loaded down with a bunch of cash and a solid gold passbook because he wanted to open another bank account. When he deposits it all at the bank, he is able to run much faster.
