The reducing ray did successfully reduce the money, but when trying to restore the money to normal size, it causes the vault to blast as the money grows, and destroys the ray. Richie then suggests using a vacuum machine to suck the money into a cave, but it causes further disaster as money is now pouring into the mansion and out the windows. Richie suggests that Keenbean has a freezing machine that turns anything into ice. On Christmas Day, Richie sees on television that a couple are on a snowmobile in Antarctica and discover a frozen heap of green ice which is believed to be money.
