Betty helps her fiancé Kerry's singing career, rescuing him when he suffers from stage fright. Talent agent Earl signs Kerry to a contract and takes him to the big city. When Betty shows up for a visit, she sees Kerry has to drink to overcome his nerves. Earl tells Betty that if Kerry is romantically linked with a nobody, it'll ruin his career. Betty tells a reporter that she's Kerry's wife and Kerry realizes that Earl has been mismanaging him. Kerry and Betty will wed and she'll help him as before.
