Part of Joe Hill's Hill House Comics imprint under DC Black Label, this sixth and final issue of Refrigerator Full of Heads delivers a cover by Mateus Manhanini that is equal parts beautiful and unsettling — a bloodied young woman clutches an ornately decorated axe while coiled in a ghostly, serpentine form, all beneath the glowing eyes of a massive shadowy presence looming overhead. The tension between her determined grip and the overwhelming darkness above her captures the series' signature blend of dread and defiance perfectly. Rio Youers, Tom Fowler, and Bill Crabtree bring this macabre 2022 horror story to its close, and if this cover is any indication, it goes out swinging.
