Red Tornado #5

The penultimate chapter of this six-issue DC miniseries puts Red Tornado at the center of a fiery, desperate struggle — the cover by Joe Prado shows him standing defiantly over a fallen, flame-wreathed opponent while a massively powerful, fire-ringed figure looms menacingly in the background. The "Brotherly Hate" story title and that scorched, crumbling cityscape behind the figures suggest the stakes couldn't be much higher heading into the finale. Kevin VanHook and José Luís bring real intensity to this 2010 series, and this issue looks like a satisfying payoff for readers who've followed Red Tornado's journey from the start.
