As Sonja reaches the end of her boat ride to the afterlife, she is forced to face her greatest fear. Kulan Gath disguises himself as Charon and tries to prevent Sonja from fulfilling her destiny but Death himself intervenes. Sonja is given the choice of entering the peace of the afterlife or returning to the world in a new guise as has happened once before. And just as before, she chooses life.
