Peggy, a polio victim, encounters a dying man carrying a secret object, which he hides in her crutch. It gives her powers such as flying, and she lies to F.B.I. agents who come seeking it. Her new neighbor's father turns out to have been blacklisted, and a mob attacks them until Peggy's father, who was gravely wounded in Korea, puts them to shame. The F.B.I. agents are willing to kill the children in order to obtain the object, but they are killed, and the device retrieved, by aliens in a U.F.O.
