“Old Jim is in Trouble”

In "Old Jim is in Trouble," young cowboys Ted Lucas, Sandy Rivers, and Billy Haines—known as the Kiyotee Kids—step into action when their friend Tex Larkin is wrongfully accused of rustling by scheming foreman Len Bassett. After Tex is fired and his home is torched by Bassett’s henchmen, the masked trio vow to protect him, setting off a tense showdown on the range. Written by Gaylord Du Bois and illustrated by Bill Ely, with a cover by Fred Harman, this 1949 Dell adventure delivers high-stakes frontier drama with a touch of youthful heroism.

Honest ranch bronc rider Tex Larkin is falsely accused of rustling by fat foreman Len Bassett, who fires him. Tex pastes Len one with an uppercut. The Kiyotee Kids (Ted Lucas, Sandy Rivers, and Billy Haines) ride out to keep an eye on Len, who has it in for Tex. Len incites his boss, honest rancher Ollie Kerr, against Tex. Spotting the Kiyotees in their masks, they head to Tex's new home and burn it down. The Kiyotees stay Tex's wrath. "To be continued."
