In Red Ryder Comics #63 (1948), a 10-cent adventure unfolds as bandits flee into the Turkey Tracks Canyons after robbing Jimson's Trading Post and four Navajos of their jewelry. Written by Gaylord Du Bois and illustrated by Bill Ely, the story follows LB and Po-ko as they track the outlaws to a hidden cliff dwelling, where they quietly recover the stolen goods and set a clever trap using a lifelike dummy of a scalped bandit. The dramatic reveal sends the robbers fleeing in panic, aided only by two arrows from LB's quiver. The cover, by Fred Harman, captures the tense moment with vivid Western flair.

The townspeople's vigilantes defend Alkali town against the invading gang. Selden calls retreat, declaring he'll be back. Sandy and her dad are rescued from the wreck of the 'News' building. Sandy comes up with the idea that the Kiyotees must get gold from where Billy discovered it earlier in Crowfoot Canyon, to buy Chet a replacement for the wrecked printing press, to ensure publicity to show the people of the county that they've got to wipe out Robbers' Roost. They head out and find the paydirt, careful to hide from the outlaws.
