The "Red Scare" arc kicks off with issue #18, sending Red Robin deep into Cold War-flavored danger with a striking Moscow backdrop — St. Basil's Cathedral's colorful domes are unmistakable beneath the feet of a towering, green-clad antagonist bearing a red star on his chest. Red Robin himself clings defiantly to the giant's grip with staff in hand, while a blonde woman in tactical black levels a firearm nearby, suggesting this mission is anything but a solo affair. Writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Marcus To, with inks by Ray McCarthy, frame the whole confrontation with a bold, globe-trotting energy that makes this one genuinely hard to put down.
