When the desperados attack Pop's home seeking information about the hidden gold, Bart manages to fight them off and save Pop, eventually driving them away on horseback. A secondary story features Red Rabbit and companions dealing with pirates of Barbados during a voyage at sea, with the action culminating in a confrontation aboard their ship. The issue also contains a humorous adventure sequence where Red Rabbit and a companion attempt gold prospecting, forgetting essential supplies like a mule and encountering mishaps along the way.
When a hurricane drives the Bugsey Bear family to seek shelter on their houseboat near Santos Frijoles, they think their troubles are over—until the fearsome Captain Goatbeard and his pirate crew from Barbadoes board their vessel with plans to plunder it. The family hatches a desperate scheme to outwit the swashbuckling raiders and reclaim their boat, relying on quick thinking and a few surprising tricks to turn the tables on the buccaneers.
Pete's peaceful milk-drinking routine gets interrupted when Tweet, a feathered nuisance, can't resist stealing sips—leading Pete to devise an elaborate trap involving a mysterious potion. When the pint-sized bird drinks it down, the results are anything but what Pete expected, turning the tables in a wild back-and-forth battle of growing, shrinking, and payback that neither of them saw coming. It's a hilarious clash of wits and fists between two mismatched rivals who just can't seem to get the upper hand.
Li'l Tinker and a friend set out to build a real airplane for the air races, scrounging up secondhand aluminum and improvising a motor out of an inner tube—with predictably chaotic results. When race day arrives, their hastily assembled contraption tears loose and careens onto the track in the middle of the competition, leading to an unexpected and hilarious finish. It's a wild ride full of laughs as these pint-sized tinkerers learn that sometimes the best-laid plans take flight in the most surprising ways.
