Ed runs a struggling small town radio station and Mary is his assistant and girlfriend. The station is saved when wealthy J.C. Whitestone buys ads, but he insists his daughter Cynthia run his sponsored show. Cynthia romances Ed so Mary thinks about quitting. Offered a job at a bigger station, Mary instead suggests Cynthia for the position. Ed, fed up with Cynthia, tells her father that she has to go. Ed and Mary can now be married.
