"Johnny Clem: The Yankee Devil" tells of a twelve-year-old sergeant who enlisted in the Federal Army during the Civil War in May 1861, walking through Michigan to join a regiment and being tested by soldiers as a potential drummer. The issue also includes brief features on the Canadian Mounties and Theodore Roosevelt, celebrating true adventures of historical figures and military heroes.
