The second volume of Bianca Pinheiro's charming series finds young Raven — dark-haired, bespectacled, and dressed in a cheerful striped top — bounding along in playful stride beside her big, gentle brown bear companion, the two of them clearly in the middle of an adventure together. Behind them rises a warm, storybook town of rounded towers and cozy rooftops bathed in soft golden hues, framed by scattered autumn leaves. It's an utterly winning image that captures the easy warmth between an unlikely pair of friends, and makes this 2018 La Boîte à Bulles release a lovely addition to any all-ages shelf.
