Issue two of this eight-part 2008 DC series wastes no time escalating the cosmic conflict, with a cover by Jim Starlin and Rob Hunter that throws a full squad of heroes against an enormous, roaring dinosaur-like creature dominating the composition. Hawkman dives in sword-raised from above, Starfire unleashes a blazing energy blast that detonates against the beast's hide, and Captain Comet streaks in alongside what appear to be Adam Strange and a handful of other allies — all set against a fiery red sky swarming with distant figures.
