The issue contains two stories. "Range Rider" features the titular character matched against an evil empire in a tale of conflict and confrontation. "A Slick Trick" follows young Deputy Sheriff Jeff Foster as he confronts Grat Clanton over the illegal sale of rifles to the Comanches; when Clanton challenges Jeff to a gunfight, Jeff employs a clever ruse involving grease on his hand to slow Clanton's draw and successfully arrest him. A secondary segment depicts a Range Rider adventure involving a blue clay sculpture that was found down by the river and turns out to be connected to the Comstock Lode.
