“Séduisante Amanda”

In "Séduisante Amanda," Josiane finds herself caught between her real-life relationship and a surreal fascination with the comic strip character Amanda, whom she models for. As her late-night sessions with the artist blur the line between reality and fiction, she’s drawn into a quiet emotional tug-of-war she never expected. A 1969 gem from Arédit-Artima, this issue captures a moment of introspective longing, with typeset lettering adding to its distinctive, period-specific charm.

Despite her boyfriend's objections, Josiane gets a job modeling for the artist who draws the comic strip 'Amanda'. When the modeling causes her to be consistently late for her dates with her boyfriend, he becomes increasingly angry. She decides to give up both her boyfriend and her modeling, but discovers that her thoughts keep returning to the artist. She resumes modeling, but feels the artist is really in love with the fictional character she portrays. Unable to compete with her 'rival' Amanda, Josiane returns to her job as a waitress.
