Quintett #2

The second volume of Quintett from comicplus+ bears the subtitle "Die Geschichte des Alban Meric," and Paul Gillon's cover sets a compelling tone immediately: in the foreground, two figures — one in a military-style cap, the other with a bandaged head — share an intense, close encounter, while a smaller inset panel above suggests a wartime or refugee scene with crowds gathered near rough structures. Giroud and Gillon bring a distinctly European sophistication to this 2006 release, and Giulio De Vita's interior work promises artwork as carefully crafted as the cover. A fine addition to any collection of Franco-Belgian-style storytelling.
