Quicksilver: No Surrender #5

The penultimate chapter of Quicksilver: No Surrender closes out with a cover that perfectly captures Pietro Maximoff at a crossroads — his silver-haired figure reaching upward against a fractured, golden cityscape, blue crystalline energy crackling at his feet. Above him, three figures cascade downward through the shattering geometry: a dark-suited hero, a red-clad woman with flowing hair, and a skeletal dark figure whose bony hand nearly grazes Pietro's own outstretched reach. Martin Simmonds brings a striking, almost painterly quality to the composition, and this fifth and final part promises a charged conclusion to one of 2018's more thoughtful solo Marvel stories.
