Don Bousquet's seventh big cartoon collection drawn from the Providence Sunday Journal Comics arrives with a cover that perfectly captures his dry New England wit — two bemused residents stand ankle-deep in floodwater amid a submerged neighborhood, one clutching what appears to be a set of keys while "Bob's Transmission and Flex Plate Shop" carries on stoically in the background. Bousquet's loose, expressive linework and warm color palette make even a flooded street feel like familiar, wry territory. With 32 pages of full color included, this 1995 collection is a fine showcase of one of Rhode Island's sharpest comic observers.
