Scott Kurtz's gaming-culture strip gets the full Image Comics treatment in this 2003 installment of PvP: Player vs. Player. The cover says it all — two characters are so absorbed in their handheld game devices that they've turned their backs on each other, one glowing screen casting a warm light as wide, cartoonish eyes stay locked on the displays. Even Geoff Johns gets a pull quote on the cover, calling it some of the most fun he'd had with a comic in a long time — high praise that feels well-earned from Kurtz's clean, animated linework alone.
