The subtitle "Infernum in Terra" sets the tone perfectly — and Mathieu Lauffray's cover delivers on that promise with a massive, fiery demonic face filling the frame, its curved horns, glowing yellow eyes, and rows of jagged teeth rendered in rich, painterly detail. Lauffray pulls triple duty here as writer, artist, and cover creator, and his craft is unmistakable in the way smoke and shadow swirl beneath the creature's snarling maw. Published by Splitter Verlag in 2009, this second volume of Prophet is dark, atmospheric European comics storytelling at its most visceral.
