When Professor X takes a sudden leave of absence from the X-Men, the team finds themselves on their own when they once again have to face the Blob who is thinking of joining Magneto's Brotherhood. When Magneto attacks with missiles, even though Blob is in the line of fire, he feels betrayed and actually saves the X-Men from the danger.
