Peter Milligan, Raül Fernandez, and Giada Marchisio's Profane reaches its fifth issue with a cover that's all cool dread and desert unease — a man in a red jacket holds a gun at his side beneath a moonlit sky, while a second figure stands at a distance and an enormous, ghostly face with a single watchful eye looms behind them both. Javier Rodríguez's artwork makes stunning use of deep blues and stark silhouettes, with Joshua trees and a modernist house grounding the surreal scene in something almost noir-familiar. It's the kind of image that makes you want to flip straight to page one.
