This issue contains two main stories featuring the American Eagle. In "The Flight of the Eagle," a Crow warrior named Shoshone is sentenced to death, but escapes his bonds and flees; the story follows Jeff Baker and others as they track Shoshone across the frontier, with Baker proving instrumental in the pursuit. In "Flames of Treachery," a greedy medicine man and crooked Indian agent challenge the American Eagle to prevent the Yellowstone from being devastated, leading to confrontations in the Wyoming territory where the Eagle must stop their conspiracy involving a supply train bound for Indian agent Carver and his annual roundup with the Bannocks and Paiutes.
