Prisonnier Riku #27

Volume 27 of Shinobu Seguchi's Prisonnier Riku, published by Éditions Akata in 2018, closes out with a subtitle that promises bittersweet resolution: Ce n'est qu'un au revoir — "It's only a farewell." The cover puts us face to face with Riku himself, jaw set and muscles taut in a posture that radiates both exhaustion and unbroken resolve, his undercut hair adding to the raw intensity of the image. A fitting send-off for a series that never flinched from the brutal demands it placed on its protagonist.
